California and National Suicide

Ratcatcher has the bad luck to reside in California. That used to be a rare privilege, but no more. We are governed by a “uni-Party” that dictates all policy, regardless of its outcome. In recent years, the outcomes have all been bad.

Currently, we are being treated to the consequences of mindless adherence to the religion of climate change. As a state, we are made to bow at the altar of the climate fanatics who now number among their most faithful the Governor of the Golden State.

In the face of overwhelming evidence that their climate protecting policies not only do not work, but have terrible negative consequences, the Democrats, led by Gavin Newsome, plow ahead to force Californians [and the rest of the nation if they have their way] to abandon gasoline driven vehicles and other tools and instruments and to embrace electricity as the sole source of power.

The 1,000-pound elephant in the room is that there is not enough electricity in California to provide power for all of its current needs – lighting, heating, cooling, machinery, safety equipment such as stop lights, etc. – let alone to power millions of electric vehicles! This mindless demand by California’s ruling elite is driving California over a cliff.

It is more than sweet irony that, just a week after the California Air Resources Board voted to implement a mandate for a total shift to electric vehicle sales by 2035, the state had to issue guidance asking residents to conserve energy. This included requesting that they raise their thermostats to 76 degrees, turn off all major appliances after 4 PM, and not charge their electric vehicles. Idiocracy!!

At the same time, the climate gurus (high priests!!) bray that America must imitate Europe’s climate policies and practices regarding the use of fossil fuels. But all over Europe, governments are bracing for fuel shortages this winter, warning residents that they may not be able to heat their homes! Some policy.

But it goes much further and much worse. Farmers all over America are having a hard time purchasing fertilizer. They are being told that they must cut back on nitrogen because of some indirect effect on the climate. Sri Lanka tried to follow the formula. It mandated a dramatic reduction in fertilizer. Now the country is facing famine and riots – starvation! That, sports fans, is the ultimate outcome of the moronic climate policies promoted by the Democrats and their religious acolytes. Famine is on the rise world-wide. It will come to America if these policies are not thrown in the trash where they belong.
