THE BITTER HARVEST OF 2008

In the run-up to the election of 2008, Barack Obama promised that, if elected president, he would fundamentally change America.  Michelle Obama relieved herself of the admission that, for the first time, she was proud of America.  That effective slap in the face of millions of Americans has echoed through the intervening sixteen years.  If Mrs. Obama was momentarily proud of America, her husband was determined the effect the change that he had promised.  And he worked diligently throughout his two terms as president to fulfill the promise. 

Today, one week before the general election of 2024, America is reaping the bitter harvest of that promise.  America is, in fact, fundamentally changed from what it was in November, 2008.  Social norms are fractured.  Families are divided into angry factions over the claims of the two major political parties.  Democrats are free with their accusations that President Trump, and by association, his voters, are Nazis and he, the embodiment of Adolph Hitler. Republicans, nonplussed by such outrage, respond with weak denials and attempt to shame the shameless.

The language and discourse of politics have changed fundamentally in the wake of Barack Obama’s presidency.  Where once disputing parties might have claimed that the positions of the opponent were disingenuous or inaccurate, polite alternatives to calling them liars, today the gloves are off and lies are identified as such.

In the 2008 election season America was introduced to the writing of Saul Alinsky, an avowed Communist who dedicated his writing to Satan.  We learned that both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama were influenced by Alinsky.  Fundamental to Alinsky’s teaching was the principle that the end justifies the means.  Lies are appropriate if they will advance one’s goals.  Attributing one’s own behavior falsely to one’s opponent [projection] is an effective method of confusing an argument and diverting attention away from the damage caused by one’s own behavior.  Does that sound familiar in the 2024 general election?  Kamala Harris and the Democrat Party accuse President Trump of planning to jail his political opponents if he is elected.  That is, of course, precisely what they have been doing to him and his supporters for the past two years!

Joe Biden promised that he would unify the country if elected.  For three and three-quarters years, he and Harris and their minions have demonized Republicans and anyone who adheres to traditional norms.  Do you support traditional marriage?  Then you are a bigot and full of hate for homosexuals and transgendered people.  Do you oppose abortion on religious grounds?  Then you are in favor of killing women.  Do you think that Title IX should protect girls from competition in sports by boys and men?  Well then, you are clearly biased and full of hatred for transgendered people!  Do you think that parents ought to be able to control what is taught to their children and under what circumstances?  If that is your position, you are likely a hate monger who should be stopped from speaking by the so-called “Department of Justice.”  When you, a black man, choose to support President Trump, you are lectured by none other than the fundamental changer himself, Barack Obama.  In his demeaning screed one hears an eerie echo of Joe Biden’s challenge to Charlemagne tha God, “If you don’t vote for me, you ain’t black.”  How insulting and condescending!  But then, what else should be expect from a man who announced that, with the advent of his presidency, the oceans would begin to recede.

The fundamental transformation promised by President Obama proceeds apace.  The tapestry of America is being shredded daily by the onslaught of radical thinking pushed by the devotees of Obama and Hillary Clinton.  Obama again – “Elections have consequences.”  Well, they sure do, and America is reaping the bitter harvest of consequences begun with the election of Barack Hussein Obama and perpetuated by Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Since elections do have consequences, we can only hope that Americans will awaken; that they have had enough of the lecturing, condemnation, and condescension of the Democrats.  It is time for another fundamental change, a reversion to normalcy, to respect for the Constitution and law, to respect and support for families and the traditional institutions of America.  It is way past time for fundamental changes to the manner in which Americans treat one another.  A return to affording to each other the kind of treatment we would want {the “Golden Rule”] is the type of change we desperately need.

President Obama, Mrs. Obama, Mrs. Clinton, President Biden and Vice President Harris – your time has gone.  Please leave the stage gracefully.  We have heard enough from each of you.  No more!
