Dump Facebook

People all over the world are voting against Vladimir Putin and his Russian forces by refusing to do business with Russian companies, banning Russian sports teams from participating in athletic events, withdrawing their businesses from Russia, etc. Russia is anathema to the world these days and Mr. Putin well deserves the calumny that he is receiving.

One might reasonably ask why, if it is appropriate to ban Russian goods from American markets and boycott all things Russian, the world is not standing up to the thugs who run Facebook and censor our communications. It is true that Facebook is not killing people, but by its actions, it is preventing valuable information from being disseminated; by its actions it is effectively silencing large groups of people; and by its actions it is costing other people their reputations and, in some instances, their businesses. Facebook is every bit as much a dictator, bully and thug as Mr. Putin. People who use its service are simply empowering Mark Zuckerberg and his cronies to continue their bullying all while making huge sums of money. Those who continue to use Facebook are no different than Joe Biden, whining about how terrible Vladimir Putin all the while purchasing oil from him and enriching him through the backdoor of the Iran Nuclear resurrection negotiations [See “Iranian Legacy”]. Words are cheap. Actions are what count.

The Daily Signal, a publication of The Heritage Foundation, published an article on March 17, 2022, highlighting the bullying and dishonesty of Facebook. The article, entitled “Facebook ‘Fact-Check’ Claims Video Citing Biden’s Own Words on Oil Drilling ‘Could Mislead” The “misleading video cited by Facebook was a recording of Mr. Biden, himself, talking about his action in stopping oil drilling. Facebook asserted that “[i]ndependent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people.” BTW—Facebook did not bother to identify the “independent fact-checkers.” Facebook then linked the story to another piece that didn’t address the content of the video. If you please, that is flagrant misleading by omission! Facebook is dishonest and should be called out for its dishonesty at every opportunity.
