Envy and Racism

Beginning with Barak Obama, the Democrat Party has majored in two divisive themes: envy and race. Those themes have found greatly expanded expression in the Biden Administration and are worth a brief review.
Mr. Obama infamously stated that the owners of businesses and, by extension, any property, did not build or create those assets. Rather, they were the result of the collective effort of society. As such, any effort by the owners or builders were misplaced. The assets really belonged ultimately to the people. [Our emphasis]. Mr. Obama drove home that point during his 2008 election campaign. Joe Wurzelbacher, an Ohio plumber, met Obama during a campaign stop. Wurzelbacher said he was about to buy the plumbing company that he works for and was concerned that Obama would tax him more because of it. Obama replied that he thought that when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody, That’s called “redistribution.” We’re hearing a great deal about that these days.
Redistribution, at bottom, comes down to a frank violation of the Tenth Commandment – “Thou shalt not covet [envy].” Whether it is forgiving student loan debts, raising taxes on “the rich,” or mandating that mortgages cost more for financially responsible borrowers than for those with low credit scores, it all comes down to taking from those who have and giving to those who have not, regardless of the reason they don’t have. Democrat sponsored redistribution plans always pander to the idea that it is somehow unfair that one person has more than another. Never mind that the person with more may have worked longer, harder, gained more education, or was simply lucky. “He has it and I want it.” That’s the motive served by the Democrat policies.
The second main theme of division is race. Mr. Biden has taken up where Obama left off.Obama’s presidency was notable for his continuous claims that every incident that involved blacks was the result of a white racist attack.Time and again, the evidence proved him wrong. At no time, however, did he apologize for his own intemperate and racially-based remarks.Biden has continued that theme. The default ad hominem attack of the Left is that its object is a racist. That attack does not require facts or witnesses. It merely proceeds on the accusation which is, in itself, a devastating charge. At the least, the claim of racism, when thrown around as by the Left, devalues the entire idea of racism, robs it of any force or credibility. A true racist is despicable. A Leftist indulging in name calling is equally despicable. The slur divides Americans, pits Blacks against Whites, Hispanics, and Asians and creates wounds which may not heal.
On Tuesday, April 24, 2023, Joe Biden announced his candidacy for re-election with the slogan, “Let’s finish the job.” The evidence is overwhelming that “the job” he has done so far is to destroy or terribly damage America. Part and parcel of “the job” has been his promotion of envy-based programs and his repeated unfounded claims of white racism. Ratcatcher doubts that America can survive Biden’s efforts to finish the job.
