House of Representatives
Office of the Speaker
1236 Longworth H.O.B.
Washington, DC 20515
President of the United States
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue
Washington, DC 20002
Dear Mr. President:
Despite our very reasonable requests and threats, you have persisted in your single-minded determination to nominate a replacement for now deceased Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and to request the Senate to confirm that person. We, in the House of Representatives, realize that we cannot hurt you, personally by our actions. So, since you seem bent on making the nomination and seeking confirmation, we want you to know that we have decided to hurt those about whom you care the most, the American public! We know that America is still reeling from the Covid virus [we know you prefer to call it by its correct name, the “China Virus” but we like the more imprecise name that disguises its real source]. We also know that numerous businesses such as restaurants, bars, and the airlines are desperately in need of additional financial help to get through the virus, but we have decided that if you can dig in on the selection of a new justice [even though the Constitution directs you to do so], we can dig in and refuse to provide that needed financial help. So there!
See how that works, Mr. President? You insist on following the Constitution and we insist on hurting the public; makes sense, don’t you think? And the best part – we can do this all day long. So there you have it. When you get tired of seeing the people of America suffering due to your insistence on following the law, you can knuckle under to our demands, and then maybe we’ll help. No promises, mind you, but maybe.
Your friend,
Nancy
P.S. You might also like what we are doing to the stock market with our threats to pack the Supreme Court, add new states, abolish the Electoral College and the best, of course, to continue the rioting and burning [that really does get the attention of voters!!]
