Every once in a while, it is a good idea to go through the check list to see what has not yet been done. Ratcatcher has identified three items that fairly scream for completion and yet are incomplete. Why?

First, why do we not yet know the identity of the Supreme Court leaker who caused such terrible damage to the internal trust and collegiality of the Court? Chief Justice Roberts has asserted total control over the matter and has chosen to keep all of us in the dark. Why? Can it possibly be that he does not yet know the identify of the miscreant who did such damage to the Court? Unlikely. So what explains the silence?

Second, why have the January 6th defendants not demanded speedy trials as is their right under the Constitution? Why has the Department of Justice been permitted to keep them incarcerated, without bail, in the manner of suspected serial killers rather than taking them to trial? If the vaunted ranks of the DOJ has evidence of real criminal conduct, why haven’t the cases been tried? Why have the lawyers for the defendants failed to demand the trial or release of their clients?

Third and last [for now], what on earth is the National Republican Committee doing with all the millions of dollars it is raising? The mid-term election is less than 90 days away – time is short! Why are the airwaves and newspapers not filled with constant reminders of the failures of the Biden Administration and its allies in Congress? Why is the RNC failing to state over and over again, with graphs and evidence the terrible damage the Democrats have inflicted on America for the past 18 months? It is surely not for lack of evidence; the evidence is thick and deep. But most media outlets are in the pocket of the Dems – so why do the Republicans assume that the average voter knows and understands the depth of the crimes and misdemeanors perpetrated by Mr. Biden and his buddies? The old wisdom of persuasive speech still holds: Tell ‘em what you’re going to tell ‘em; tell ‘em; then tell ‘em what you’ve told ‘em. Is the Republican Party so stupid it can’t remember such a simple rule?
