Nuclear War!!

One day, perhaps in the very near future, those media still able to publish or broadcast will feature the following headline in “second coming font:” NUCLEAR WAR!!! Without doubt, some of our readers will accuse Ratcatcher of sensationalism or fear mongering with what follows. We respectfully disagree. This post is distinctly NOT analysis of the pros and cons of the military claims of the two combatants most likely to trigger such nuclear war. Rather, it is intended to analyze why the world has been brought to this moment.

We take as fact that Russia, either directly or through its surrogates, is threatening the use of tactical nuclear weapons in its conflict with Ukraine. We also take as given that Ukraine, acting through its President, has demanded regime change in Russia, the equivalent of a declaration of war on Vladimir Putin. Into that fray numerous American "experts," including the discredited former Director of the CIA, John Brennan and retired General, David Petraeus, also a former Director of the CIA, have weighed in with opinions on whether Russia will use tactical nuclear weapons and, if it does, what the U.S. response should be. All of the talking heads, apparently without exception, assume that the U.S. could (or would??) respond with traditional, non-nuclear weapons, wiping out the Russian fleet and the entire Russian Army and that would bring an end to it. Ratcatcher is not a military expert, but that analysis strikes us as childishly naïve. Russia, still controlled by Mr. Putin, controls over 6,000 nuclear weapons, including those that can be delivered by intercontinental missiles. And these talking heads assume that, with his back to the wall, Putin will not use the nukes.

So, to the point of this post – How did we get to this place? Ratcatcher believes the answers is deceptively simple. The world stands on the precipice of nuclear war – world devastation – through the work of three groups.

First, and arguably most culpable, is the American media, broadcast, print and social media [Facebook!!] that, with almost no exceptions. Facilitated the election of Joe Biden to the presidency, allowing him to avoid any serious questioning during the presidential campaign and then squelching the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop computer until after the presidential election. That single act allowed Joe Biden to escape completely any questioning about the apparent “pay-for-play” that he was involved in during and after the Obama Administration. The media remains guilty of the most egregious malpractice ever perpetrated by the media in the history of this country. It was almost single-handedly responsible for the election of a completely incompetent and irresponsible president who has jeopardized the safety of all Americans by his actions.

Second, the FBI bears terrible responsibility for the election of Joe Biden. We now know that the FBI sat on and covered up the information contained in the Hunter Biden laptop in order to prevent it from being used against Joe Biden. A significant percentage of Biden voters have now reported that, had they known of the contents of the laptop, they would not have voted for Biden. The FBI flagrantly violated the law, interfering in the election of an American president. The senior leadership, and perhaps many rank and file agents, bear direct responsibility for bringing America to the brink of nuclear war through their interference in the election.

Third, of course primary fault lies directly in the lap of the Forty-sixth President, Joe Biden. Whether Biden is genuinely impaired or merely acts like it, he signals to the world that he is weak, incompetent, irresolute [except when attacking Republicans], and evidently clueless regarding real politik. Mr. Biden infamously began his administration by knee-capping the entire American energy industry, instantly rendering the U.S. dependent on foreign oil sources, including Russian. He has followed a course of posturing against Russia as if Mr. Putin were Cornpop. Mr. Putin is real; he has an army and weapons; he apparently has his back to the wall. And Biden has no better sense and is not being advised b y people with better sense, than to continue to pole Putin in the eye as if daring him to use his weapons. Joe: Be careful what you wish for!

Why have we gone to the trouble of rehearing what everyone already knows? Because Ratcatcher sincerely believes that the world is staring into the abyss and Joe Biden and his advisors seem intent on pushing us over the edge. There is a popular campaign question being asked right now of voters confronting the economic wreckage created by Mr. Biden: “Are you better off now than you were two years ago?” Ratcatcher has a more pressing question: Would we, the world, be on the verge of nuclear war if all of the miscreants described above had told the truth and allowed the American public a real election – to elect Donald Trump to a second term? Mr. Trump’s record speaks for itself. There was no conflict with Russia; there was no energy crisis; there was no food and baby formular shortage; the Southern border was closing. It bids fair to assume that if Mr. Trump had been elected, as he surely should have been, we would not be confronting the potential of a nuclear war with Russia.

So the question is begged: What consequences should the media, FBI, and Mr. Biden bear as a result of their gross malpractice?
