Pennsylvania’s Consequential Election

Elections have consequences. We have been told that repeatedly in recent years as if we, as a people, were too stupid to figure it out on our own. Pennsylvania is in the midst of one such consequential election and John Fetterman, the Democrat candidate, wants you to know just how important it is.

Mr. Fetterman will not confront his Republican opponent, Mehmet Oz in a debate, but advertises widely what he thinks is the most important issue on the ballot and why Pennsylvanians ought to vote for him. Mr. Fetterman wants to outlaw fracking for oil, one of Pennsylvania’s most valuable natural resources. He also wants to release from prison most prisoners back on the streets of Pennsylvania since the legal and prison system is, in his judgment, racist. Since the Vice President and Mr. Mayorkas have repeatedly assured us that the Southern Border is closed, Mr. Fetterman doesn’t think that illegal immigration is an issue.

So, you ask, what is the burning issue that has John Fetterman so exercised? Abortion! Mr. Fetterman wants to be elected to the United States Senate so that he can vote for a federal law allowing abortion through at least all nine months of a pregnancy. That, dear reader, is more important than the flood of fentanyl pills killing teenagers in Pennsylvania and certainly more important than the out-of-control price of food, gasoline, rent, and all the other monthly costs of living that are harming the folks in Pennsylvania. Abortion – that’s it! Mr. Fetterman is a one-trick pony whose “trick” is to make sure the maximum number of babies possible are killed.

The people of Pennsylvania ought to ask Mr. Fetterman a single question: “Why are you so afraid of the people of Pennsylvania? Why don’t you trust them to do the right thing?” That is the key question since the Supreme Court handed the issue of abortion back to the states. If the people of Pennsylvania want unlimited abortion, they will vote for it. Hey, John, what’s wrong with that? Oh, but maybe they don’t want unlimited abortion. Maybe they think babies are humans who deserve to live. What about that, John?
