Private Inurement

Three months ago, facing a shellacking in the Mid-Term Elections, Joe Biden decided to fool the American public into believing that the energy crisis that he had single-handedly caused, was over, oil prices were going to come down and so would gasoline prices at the pump. And just like magic, they did! The problem with Mr. Biden’s “solution” was that it was grossly dishonest and transparently fraudulent.

Mr. Biden’s solution was to take millions of gallons of oil from the U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve and sell it to China, America’s deadly and deadliest enemy!

The SPR was created to provide a reserve of oil for EMERGENCIES such as natural disasters and for us in time of war. It was never conceived as a solution to an irresponsible energy policy. It was also NOT intended as a means of vote buying. That is precisely what Joe Biden has attempted. The release of oil from the SPR has been solely for his benefit, to help him and the Democrats hold on to power. As such, the use of America’s oil has been an egregious example of private benefit—private inurement—something absolutely prohibited by law.

Will Joe Biden be called to account for this theft of our oil? Ratcatcher doubts it but that does not change the fact that he should.

When it became clear that the theft of the SPR would not be enough, Biden went to Saudi Arabia to beg the Saudi government for more oil. When that was refused, Plan B was to beg that the Saudis at least delay their planned reduction in production of oil until after the mid-term elections. Why? So that the price of gasoline would not rise further threatening the Democrat election hopes. The Saudis refused but think for a moment about the misuse of American government assets. The entire Saudi Arabia trip was for one purpose only —to delay the inevitable, to buy time in which maybe, by some miracle, the Dems might yet pull out the votes to avoid electoral disaster. All of this was done in servicer of Joe Biden and his Party, not to reverse the disastrous energy policy Biden implemented on the day of his inauguration – private benefit – private inurement. Disgraceful.
