Stop Watching! Stop Reading!

The New York Times, hardly a bastion of conservatism, has reported that 71% of Americans believe democracy in America is threatened. So it is fair to ask who or what is doing the threatening. 59% identified the mainstream media as a major threat to democracy!

The “mainstream media” is generally considered to be the voice of the Democrat National Party. It parrots the talking points, lies, distortions, and arguments of the Democrats normally verbatim. In fact, as several Fox News hosts delight to point out, one can listen to the talking heads on nearly all of the competing stations literally using the same words and phrases each day.

Ratcatcher despises the term “mainstream media” in the belief that the corporate media is not representative of the mainstream of American opinion. It is, rather, far left in its views.

What to do when the presumptive guardians of our free speech and truth have become the voice of one party. Simple – quit watching; quit reading their rags. If you buy fish, use the newspapers for wrapping. Tucker Carlson of Fox News this week included an extensive critique of Comcast and its cable outlet, MSNBC and its overtly racist commentators. Those networks exist on commercial revenue. When advertisers figure out that no one is watching, they will terminate their commercial support and Joy Reid, Tiffany Cross and others will have to look elsewhere to vent their poison.
