Suburban Abortion

If polling data can be believed (a questionable proposition!!!), suburban women are making the right to continue killing their babies a key issue in the mid-term elections this fall. Think about that for a minute. Suburban women must have so much money that they don’t worry about the skyrocketing costs of gasoline, food, mortgages and rent, to say nothing of the rampant crime in our cities. As to the last issue, perhaps, as “suburbanites,” they don’t have to worry about cities; they can leave that hazardous task to their husbands – those who still go to work. The suburban women apparently can sit at home, drink their Chardonnay, attend their club meetings and forget about the economic and crime tragedies sweeping the rest of the country. They can focus their time and attention on that single most important issue of all – how to preserve the right to kill their babies.

If the polling data is accurate (again, Ratcatcher entertains serious doubts), then this sad and shameful data is one more indicator that America has gone the wrong way. When people worry more about making sure they can abort their babies than they do about putting food on the table, they have passed a line of decency. At that point, it is fair to label them as Philistines. America’s suburban women have, evidently, become Philistines. They have brought disgrace on themselves and their families. And what of the men?
