The Democrats’ Projector

Psychologists have identified one of the most dishonest and unhealthy practices people can adopt as projection. Children learn to blame others, including their siblings, for their own failures, lies, and misbehavior. They learn early to ascribe to others the very plans they intend to carry out in the hope that the attention of their parents, teachers, or those in charge of them will look the wrong way, failing to see when they act out. The Democrats have refined this projection to a fine art. Their work has been on full display this week in the lead up to the anniversary of January 6, with all of the demagoguery that has attended that sad day. They and their allies in the media have lied nonstop that the demonstration [or even the riot??] of January 6, 2021, was an insurrection, aimed at destroying American democracy.
That claim, aside from its obvious falsehood, is aimed explicitly at diverting the attention of Americans from the demonstrable fact that the Democrats are busily promoting one effort after another to remake America; attempting to destroy American democracy. The claims of the Democrats are nothing less than their own version of projection: accusing Republicans of the very thing they, themselves, are endeavoring to accomplish.
Victor Davis Hanson is a scholar with impeccable credentials. He writes for a number of publications and is a Fellow at the Hoover Institution. Earlier today Dr. Hanson published an article in Daily Caller in which he specifically addressed this dishonest practice of projection. In the article, Dr. Hanson made the following profound observation:
“. . .or they may mask their own revolutionary propensities by projecting them onto their opponents. After all, who is trying to federalize election laws in national elections contrary to the spirit of the Constitution? Who wishes to repeal or circumvent the Electoral College? Who wishes to destroy the more than 180-year-old Senate filibuster, the over 150-year-old nine-justice Supreme Court and the more than 60-year-old 50-state union? Who is attacking the founding constitutional idea of two senators per state?”
It is next to impossible to conceive a more radical, revolutionary formula for the remaking of America than the proposals being advanced by the Democrats while they smirkingly accuse Republicans of attempting to overthrow American democracy. And the Democrats make that accusation without smiling; without winking; or giving any other hint that they realize just how fraudulent and preposterous their claims are.
The Democrats are practitioners of “the big lie.” They have perfected the art. It remains to be seen whether American voters will swallow the lie and buy the fraud on offer by the Democrats next November when the mid-term elections roll around. As always, voters deserve the government they elect.
