WE’RE BAAAACK

In mid-2023, Ratcatcher decided to hang it up.  Too many reasons to list here.  But we’ve watched with growing dismay throughout the past year as men and women (yes, Ratcatcher thinks there are only TWO sexes) elected to serve America have botched the job, have openly lied to us, and have promised only more debauchery.  The attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, following the screed of President Joe Biden on Friday night and the on-going calls of the Democrats for a “target on Donald Trump” have compelled Ratcatcher to reconsider.  After endless internal debates and long-night wrestling matches over whether to rejoin the fray, Ratcatcher has decided to leap into the breach [apologies to those of you old enough to remember the Ballad of Vicki Duggan and The Limelighters].  So we are going to weigh in again and again on issues that pique our interest and outrage.  As before, readers are welcome to respond as noted at the foot of this and all of our postings.

A little over two weeks ago, the world was treated to the image of a frail, incoherent, and clearly struggling President, Joe Biden, as he tried, unsuccessfully to debate former President, Donald Trump.  The debacle of that debate was immediately followed by scene of handwringing and accusations among the Dems wondering how it was that the nation could have been misled so totally over President Biden’s cognitive decline.  Democrat turned on Democrat; some morons even attempted to blame the Republicans – risible!!

But the blame game did not look back far enough.  True, Democrat leaders and their lackeys in the media have lied repeatedly and egregiously for years about Biden, about his tendency to lie and cheat; about his incompetence; about the border, about coming national economic collapse, about rampant importation of killer drugs, to name just a few of the lies.  Lies are pernicious, but they are only believed by ignorant or naïve people  The foundations that allowed the Democrats and the media to lie, to cover up, to mislead the American public were laid in the years immediately following the revolutionary years of the 1960s when the radicals of those years began to accumulated power and influence.

The quieter and more invidious destruction has been going on for fifty or more years in the nations’ educational system.  When “academics” can argue with a straight face that math is racist; that engineering science discriminates against women; that there are multiple sexes; that America is a racist and destructive society, grounded on colonialism, while ignoring or perverting basic American history to fit their own progressive [or even Marxist] ends, it is no wonder that ignorant people will take up guns to kill the leaders of what they deem a threatening political movement.

Periodically, “Johnnie,” the man-in-the-street feature of the Jesse Watters show, asks people fundamental questions about American history.  Few can answer even one of the questions; most of the answers are embarrassingly stupid, often given with a chagrin that evidences the recognition of the respondent that he ought to know the answer to the question.  Why doesn’t she?  Because he was not taught in school.  Because the “teachers” charged with educating her spent their time inculcating a hatred and disrespect for America as a racist and sexist nation; a nation that owes reparations to every group that can mount a claim to be aggrieved.  Few American students have ever read any of the Federalist Papers explaining the arguments over the adoption of the Constitution.  Almost none have read the writings of John Adams, especially his statement that “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Morality and virtue are the foundation of our republic and necessary for a society to be free.”  A discussion of that statement would, of course, be completely out of bounds because it prescribes morality; after all, in 20th and 21st century America, what is morality?  We have shed ourselves of that old-fashioned concept!  But, in doing so, we have also eviscerated the Constitution; it no longer works.  Few, if any, American students know anything about George Washington’s Christian convictions, his dedication to prayer, and his generosity.  Many can’t even tell you who George Washington was!  And whose fault is that?

It is, of course, simplistic to assert that incompetent and progressive/Marxist-leaning teachers are responsible for the attempted assassination of President Trump.  It is much more complicated than that.  But many of the threads that led to that awful event were woven in our schools.  We are likely to experience further such devastating events unless and until fundamental change is made in the American educational system, weeding out the Marxists and replacing them with honest educators.

When educators and Democrat politicians constantly inveigh against Republican leaders with the most disgusting rhetoric; when they call them Nazis and label leaders “Hitler;”  when they claim falsely that Republicans intend to imprison their political opponents and force women into alley-way abortions with coat-hangers; when they lie about the intention of their opponents to terminate Medicare we should not be surprised when a madman takes them seriously and acts – kill Hitler!
