You Can Vote But You Can’t Eat

Stuart Varney of Fox Business News pointed out a glaring hypocrisy of the Democrats – as if there were not enough of them. Mr. Varney noted that, in New Your City, one cannot eat in a restaurant without providing proof of Covid vaccination. New York City is, for those who have not yet caught on, governed by Democrats. Moreover, this requirement applies to children aged 5 to 12, and includes indoor fitness, indoor entertainment and certain meeting spaces. That sweeping requirement also includes theaters, music venues, museums, and indoor stadiums, among other venues. No proof of vaccination – no admittance! Seems clear.
But what about voting? Many states, including New York at the time of registration, require identification as a prerequisite to voting. Democrats call “Foul.” They say it is clearly unfair and unconstitutional to deny those people the right to vote, to influence elections without regard to their identity, citizenship, right to be in the US, or criminal status. They contend only a pigheaded white supremacist intent on denying the vote to minorities would require voter identification.
Saul Alinsky would approve the Democrats’ claims. The end justifies the means. The best defense against Alinsky and the Democrats is common sense. Does it pass the common sense test to prohibit children from eating in restaurants because they lack proof of vaccination while permitting people with no identification to vote? Most rational people would say it flunks the test. It is unclear whether Mr. Biden would even understand the question.
