"You Will Be Like God"

The original temptation of man was the promise that, by the simple act of eating of a particular fruit, he would become as God. In the thousands of years since that event, nothing has changed! The same tempting lie is told over and over and mankind falls for it every time. One is reminded of Charlie Brown’s repeated attempts to kick a football held by Lucy – oops.

Recently, Tucker Carlson reminded his audiences of the long list of failed predictions concerning climate change. Many of our his listeners and our readers are old enough to recall the hysterical predictions of an impending ice age that would, in due course, wipe out mankind. Nothing would do but that man must immediately embark upon draconian efforts to avoid freezing to death and losing all of the crops and livestock of the world. The unstated assumption was, of course, that mankind was actually in charge of the climate and could change the temperature of the globe, up or down, by force of their will.

The myth of a new ice age gained traction, was repeated over and again, and even involved television stars, as if they somehow had acquired super skills and knowledge not possessed by the rest of mankind. They still believed the lie, “You shall be as God.”

A popular definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. That definition fits here. But mankind’s thirst for god status has not dimmed or gone away; it has strengthened.

When the earth did not freeze, those seeking god status found a new cause – global warming. Enter Al Gore with his inconvenient facts. The trouble is, of course, that the whole idea was, in fact, inconvenient and untrue. The “science” that Gore used was a fraud; the temperatures that he cited had been taken next to HVAC exhaust vents, some of the hottest locations possible, but that was never disclosed. But even in the face of the fraud, the threatened burning of the globe did not occur. The polar ice did not disappear; the Polar bears did not become extinct; and the water in the oceans did not swamp the Statue of Liberty!

But man’s efforts to become as God have never wavered. Al Gore and John Kerry still fly around the world now preaching about “climate change” since the ice age and global warming shticks did not work. Even the screeching of Greta Sundberg has had no measurable effect on the climate.

These arrogant mental dwarfs continue in their effort to achieve god status despite the obvious and indisputable fact that the globe creates and controls its own climate forces, thank you very much, and has for millennia. Even amateur climatologists know that the globe alters its orientation to the sun automatically, causing seasonal changes from hot to cold. Oceans and lakes are heated or cooled by the sun and winds and, in response, generate rain, snow, and drought. The archeological record of the earth is replete with evidence of changes in the climate thousands of year preceding the appearance of mankind, all of which took place without the influence of man.

There are a few things in life and the world that are simply under God’s dominion – gender and the climate are but two – and man would do well to give up trying to be as God where those matters are concerned. The original story from which the temptation “You will be as God” did not end well for those who bought the lie. It will not end well for those who embrace it now.
